Peacock to Add 123 Movies In March 2025 – Here Are the 5 Best

The TV Answer Man – Follow me on X.
Peacock this month (March 2025) will add 123 new movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the five best, in my humble opinion.
Hold on, TV Answer Man.
Yes, before I offer my fab five, I would be remiss if I didn’t note that Peacock on March 21 will debut the 2024 box office blockbuster, Wicked, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The Wizard of Oz prequel made more than $700 million worldwide and became a cultural sensation for its snappy tunes and warmhearted tale.
However, I was one of the six people on the planet who did go to the theater to see Wicked. My 13-year-old daughter went, but I did not. (When I brought her to see Wicked, I instead ducked over to the multiplex room where Gladiator II was playing.) Consequently, I can not review it and therefore not put it in the five best films coming to Peacock this month.
Now, with that out of the way…
The five best films coming to Peacock in March 2025:
The Big Lebowski (1998) – Coen Bros. Comedy Masterpiece
The 1998 cult comedy from the Coen Bros. features an iconic Los Angeles slacker (Jeff Bridges) named ‘The Dude’ who accidentally becomes the focus of a murder investigation. Only Joel and Ethan Coen could take this farfetched plot and turn it into a cultural mainstay and masterpiece that resonates with multiple generations. The flawless supporting cast includes John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman, David Huddleston, Julianne Moore, and John Turturro as Jesus, a bowler with a strange fetish for his ball.
Zero Dark Thirty (2012) – Quintessential Film On Bin Laden Hunt
Director Kathryn Bigelow’s intense 2012 drama starring Jessica Chastain as a relentless CIA agent who hunts for the masterminds behind the 9/11 attack on America. The film was seen by some as glorifying the extralegal tactics required to obtain leads in the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. But it fairly characterizes the pain and zeal felt by the intelligence/military personnel at the time. And Chastain is riveting as a CIA case officer who can’t sit still (literally) until she finds her man.
The Hurt Locker (2008) – Intense War Drama
The brilliant 2008 Iraqi war drama stars Jeremy Renner as a munitions specialist who’s ready to blow. There have been many films that strive to show the horrors of war after the soldier comes home but few have done it better than The Hurt Locker. Renner’s character becomes addicted to war’s adrenaline rush and is never able to live normally again. It’s a great performance.

Kill Bill, Volume 1 and 2 (2003, 2004) – Tarantino’s Homage to Kung Fu Films
Quentin Tarantino’s ode to the great martial arts films of the 1970s. Uma Thurman stars as a betrayed assassin who seeks revenge on the crew who tried to kill her. (We’re counting the two films as one because QT does.) The Kill Bill movies may be too gory for some, but Tarantino displays the action with a master’s touch and the supporting cast, which includes Michael Madsen, Lucy Liu, David Carradine, Daryl Hannah and Vivica Fox, is superbly sublime.
Salt (2010) – Angelina Jolie As Action Star
Directed by Phillip Noyce, Salt is a pulse-pounding espionage thriller thanks to Angelina Jolie’s dynamic performance as CIA officer Evelyn Salt. Accused of being a Russian spy, Salt must evade the good/bad guys while finding evidence of her innocence. The film’s intricate plot twists, heart-pounding action sequences, and Jolie’s captivating portrayal make for an exhilarating cinematic experience, albeit occasionally veering into implausibility.
