TV Answer Man, I saw your article about Optimum TV giving money for subscribers to get Fubo so they can watch MSG. Do you know which RSNs (regional sports networks) that Fubo has? — Donnie, St. Paul, Minnesota.
Donnie, you’re right. Optimum TV, the cable TV service which lost MSG Networks in the tri-state New York area due to a carriage fight, has partnered with Fubo to give its subscribers a 30 percent discount for the first two months on the live streaming service. Since Fubo carries MSG, the regional TV home of the New Jersey Devils, New York Knicks, Rangers and Islanders, this is a way that Optimum’s customers can continue watching their hometown heroes in case the MSG dispute is not settled soon.
The Optimum-Fubo partnership prompted a handful of reader e-mails asking if Fubo is a good choice for sports fans, and specifically, which RSNs does Fubo carry. While Fubo does not have as many regional sports networks as DIRECTV Stream, which has 35, the most among live streamers, it does have 26 RSNs. And they are available in market in Fubo’s base Pro plan, which costs $79.99 a month. (DIRECTV Stream’s least expensive plan with RSNs included starts at $114.99 a month. Note, however, that Fubo has a regional sports fee which can be as high as $15.99 in some markets. DIRECTV Stream does not have a RSN fee.)
Here is a list of the 26 regional sports networks that are available in market on Fubo:
