Will Netflix Stream the Tyson-Paul Fight In 4K?

Gonzalo, Netflix this Friday (November 15) will be the talk of the sports world when it offers an exclusive streamcast of the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The coverage will begin at 8 p.m. ET on the world’s largest streaming service. (There will be three undercard fights as well so don’t expect the fight to begin immediately.)

Tyson, the former heavyweight champion (but AARP-eligible at age 58), is a 2-1 underdog against the influencer turned pugilist Paul. The match will be eight rounds, but each round will be two minutes instead of the usual three. This could help Tyson whose stamina is certainly questionable at this point. (Netflix was scheduled to stream the fight in July but Iron Mike fell ill on an airplane due to an ulcer flare up so it was postponed.)

But will the fight be available in 4K, you ask?

We asked Julie Frazier, a Netflix spokesperson, today and here’s the answer:

“Viewers can stream the Paul-Tyson fight in 4K if they have premium membership and a 4K supported device. Here is more information on membership plans,” she said via e-mail.

So there you go. If you have the Netflix Premium plan, which is $22.99 a month, you’re all set. You will be able to watch the fight in 4K, assuming you have a 4K TV and/or a 4K-supported streaming device. If you don’t have the Premium plan, you can upgrade before the fight.
