Hulu to Add 123 New Titles In September 2024 – Here’s the 3 Most Interesting

Hulu next month (September 2024) plans to add 123 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand service. Here’s the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

The Old Man: Season 2 Premiere (FX)
Jeff Bridges stars as Dan Chase, a former (and dangerous) CIA agent whose secret hideaway is suddenly disturbed after 30 years when he’s attacked by professional assassin. After disposing with his attacker, Chase goes on the run but discovers his own government is trying to kill him at the behest of a foreign adversary. John Lithgow plays a high-ranking FBI officer who’s involved in the chase for Chase. And Alia Shawkat is his loyal young assistant who has a mysterious tie to Chase. The Old Man is a terrific cat-and-mouse show with superb performances by all three as well as from Amy Brenneman as a neighbor in the wrong place at the wrong time. Binge season one on Hulu and then tune in for the season two premiere on September 13. This is great episodic television.

American Sports Story: Series Premiere (FX)
Josh Andrés Rivera stars as Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriots tight end whose career came to a crashing halt when he was accused of murdering the boyfriend of his fiancee’s sister. The 10-episode series, which was produced by the team behind such pulpy faves as FX’s American Crime Story and American Horror Story, will chronicle Hernandez’s rise and fall with some intriguing supporting portrayals (Patrick Schwarzenegger as his University of Miami teammate, OB Tim Tebow; Jerry Levine as Patriots owner Robert Kraft; Norbert Leo Butz as Pats coach Bill Belichick; and Ross Jirgi as QB1 Tom Brady.) This will be must viewing for any sports fan. Debuts September 18.

Child Star: Documentary Premiere (Hulu Original)
Have you ever wondered how famous children in the entertainment business manage to grow up with their sanity intact? Well, they often don’t, and this documentary provides the receipts with candid interviews with Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, JoJo Siwa, Raven-Symoné and Alyson Stoner. Demi Lovato, who can certainly relate, is the doc’s director. Debuts September 17.
