Major League Baseball is now offering the MLB Network as a standalone streaming service for $5.99 a month. For $6,99 a month, fans can get the baseball channel as a bundle with At Bat which offers live minor league games, live MLB game audio for all 30 teams and access to MLB Big Innings which provides live look-ins at games.

Many baseball enthusiasts have long requested that the MLB Network be available as a standalone service, particularly subscribers to streamers that don’t carry the channel such as YouTube TV.

“As the way viewers consume content continues to evolve, we are excited for baseball fans to have this new option to experience MLB Network through direct-to-consumer streaming,” MLB Network president Bill Morningstar said. “Going this direction allows us to significantly expand our reach to fans and gives them more choices on how they want to watch the Network’s Emmy Award-winning coverage.”

The league says current and future MLB TV subscribers will also get the MLB Network for free for the remainder of the season. Fans who receive the MLB Network from pay TV services that do carry it can watch the streaming version with their authenticated user name and password.
