Netflix to Add 18 New Titles This Week – Here’s the 3 Most Interesting

Netflix plans to add 18 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup this week (July 14-20, 2024.) Here are the three most interesting new titles, in my humble opinion:

Cobra Kai: Season 6 Part 1 — Netflix Series
This will be the sixth and final season of the Karate Kid reboot and, with a swift karate kick, it will be split into three parts starting with part one’s five episodes on July 18. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are back in their original roles as karate rivals, Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, turned grown men who continue to live out their childhood ambitions through the younger set. Debuts Thursday, July 18.

Homicide: Los Angeles – Netflix Series
Dick Wolf, the creator of Law & Order, is the producer here which means we’ll see the trashy side of Tinseltown in this five-part documentary series about murder among the stars. Homicide: Los Angeles will examine the prosecution of mega-music producer Phil Spector who killed his girlfriend to the murder of a young mother which remained unsolved for more than two decades. Debuts Tuesday, July 16.

Simone Biles Rising — Netflix Sports Series
The hard-working Netflix sports documentary team debuts a new installment this week with Simone Biles Rising, a look at the Olympic gymnast who had to take a step back in the 2020 Tokyo Games due to mental struggles. However, Biles is back this month for the 2024 Paris Games and this doc chronicles the four-time Gold Medal winner’s fight to get back on top.
