Peacock, the NBCUniversal owned streaming service, plans to add 86 new movies on Wednesday, May 1. Here are the four best, in my humble opinion.

Daniel Kaluuya in Jordan Peele’s Get Out.

Get Out (2017)
Daniel Kaluuya stars as a young black man who learns some scary secrets about his white girlfriend (Allison Williams) and her family when he visits their home. The Jordan Peele-directed horror/satire became an instant classic for its insightful and suspenseful take on racial paranoia (from both sides here) and miscommunication. Be prepared to laugh, think and occasionally jump out of your seat.

The Hurt Locker (2008)
The brilliant 2008 Iraqi war drama stars Jeremy Renner as a munitions specialist who’s ready to blow. There have been many films that strive to show the horrors of war after the soldier comes home but few have done it better than The Hurt Locker. Renner’s character becomes addicted to war’s adrenaline rush and is never able to live normally again. It’s a great performance.

Fletch (1985)
The 1985 comedy film stars Chevy Chase at the height of his powers as investigative journalist Irwin ‘Fletch’ Fletcher. The supporting cast includes Tim Matheson (whose role in Animal House was originally set for Chevy), Joe Don Baker and a towel-clad Dana Wheeler-Nicholson who probably still smirks when she thinks about CC ‘hitting’ that water buffalo with his car.

Mad Max (1979)
The post-apocalyptic film stars Mel Gibson as a police officer forced to enter survival mode when society becomes lawless due to shortages of critical resources. The movie made Mel a star but don’t forget director George Miller’s visionary storytelling and flawless scene staging. Classic work.

Honorable mentions go to Jurassic Park, The 40 Year Old Virgin, No Time to Die, Enemy at the Gates, and Wonder Woman.
