TV Answer Man, do you know if Comcast will have a free preview of the Extra Innings plan? — Jack, Deale, Maryland.

Jack, Comcast’s Xfinity TV service includes the MLB Extra Innings package of out-of-market regular season MLB games for four installments of $37.5o each. (That comes to $150 for the 2024 season.) The plan, which requires your home team (or teams) to be blacked out, includes up to 90 out-of-market contests every week, all in high-def. You can watch the games live or record them on your Xfinity X1 set-top.

But if you are not ready to spend $150 on baseball, don’t worry. Xfinity will offer a free preview of Extra Innings from today (March 28, opening day for the MLB season) through April 4. This is a great way to check out the package before making a commitment.

By the way, the Xfinity MLB Extra Innings package also comes with MLB TV for free. MLB TV is the league’s streaming plan for out-of-market games. The streaming service allows you to watch the games online via the MLB app or at the MLB web site.

Jack, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
