TV Answer Man, I saw your article about the student price for the NFL Sunday Ticket going up. What about the price for everyone else? Is YouTube and Google raising our prices, too? — Jerry, Garland, Texas.

Jerry, you’re right. Google this week revealed that it’s raising the price of the NFL Sunday Ticket’s student plan in 2024 from $109 to $199. The price this year is $209 if you add the NFL RedZone channel, compared to $119 in 2023. But does this mean that non-student prices are going up as well?

Answer: No. Google this week also revealed that the regular price for the NFL Sunday Ticket is staying the same for the 2024 season. That means the Sunday Ticket’s base plan on YouTube TV will again be $349 while it will be $449 on YouTube Primetime Channels. If you add the RedZone to either plan, the price goes up $40 to $389 and $489 respectively. Again, those are the same prices as last year. (The YouTube TV price requires you to maintain a subscription to the live streaming service which starts at $72.99 a month.)

Google’s YouTube is now offering new subscribers a $50 discount on the 2024 Sunday Ticket on either the YouTube TV package or YouTube Primetime Channels plan. The discount would reduce the Sunday Ticket base price from $349 to $299 on YouTube TV and $449 to $399 on YouTube Primetime Channels.

YouTube TV says the $50 discount is good until February 28, 2024. The TV Answer Man asked YouTube TV’s customer service this week if we could sign up for the $50 discount but was told no because we were a previous subscriber. Customer service said there may be a discount later for previous subscribers, but not now.

It will not surprise me if YouTube offers more discounts later in the year and your TV Answer Man will provide updates here if that occurs. Until then, happy viewing and stay safe!
