Netflix to Add 97 New Releases In April 2026: The 3 to Watch

Netflix next month (April 2026) will add 97 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

Man On Fire (First season, seven episodes)
When to Watch: April 30
What Kind of Show: Drama
Who’s In It: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Bobby Cannavale, Scoot McNairy, Billie Boullet
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as John Creasy, a former special forces operative turned mercenary in this TV remake of the 2004 Denzel Washington movie. This is hallowed ground for fans of the Denzel action thriller but the cast is strong (also includes Scoot McNairy and Bobby Cannavale) and Kyle Killen is the show runner. If you don’t know Kyle Killen, you are not alone. He’s one of the most talented but unknown people in Hollywood, creating gems such as NBC’s Awake, ABC’s Mind Games and Fox’s Lone Star (ran one episode!). For various reasons, his shows, while critically acclaimed, never caught on. Maybe this will be the one for him. Fingers crossed.

Beef (Season Two, Eight Episodes)
When to Watch: April 16
What Kind of Show: Comedy/Drama
Who’s In It: Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Steven Yeun, Ali Wong
Beef’s season one was a sneaky hit for Netflix. The show stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong as strangers whose lives become inexorably entangled after being involved in a road rage incident. Beef is a terrific and funny commentary on how fleeting moments can change lives. To illustrate how well season one did, season two has nabbed some high-profile actors (Oscar Isaac, Cailee Spaeny, Carey Mulligan) to engage in an all-new feud.

Tyson Fury vs. Arslanbek Makhmudov – Netflix Live Event
When to Watch: April 11, estimated: 2 p.m. ET (Preliminaries to start earlier; time to be announced)
What Kind of Show: Sports
Who’s In It: Tyson Fury, Arslanbek Makhmudov
Netflix is back in the ring with the April 11 match from London between former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-2-1) and knockout specialist Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs). Fury hasn’t fought since December 2024, losing to Oleksandr Usyk by unanimous decision. He hopes a quick victory against Makhmudov will put him in line for a major payday against Anthony Joshua.
