Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Amazon Adding 43 New Releases This Weekend: The 3 to Watch

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!

Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Disney Plus, Paramount Plus, Peacock, Apple TV and Hulu this weekend (March 12-15, 2026) will add 43 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

The Madison
Where to Watch: Paramount Plus
When to Watch: Saturday, March 14 (3 Episode Premiere)
What Kind of Show: Western/Drama
Who’s In It: Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell
The latest Yellowstone spin-off stars Michelle Pfeiffer (pictured above) and Kurt Russell as a New York couple who vacation in central Montana to grieve after a family tragedy. There are few details available beyond that so we’ll have to place our viewing bets on show creator (and mogul) Taylor Sheridan. And with vets Pfeiffer and Russell in tow against the backdrop of Yellowstone, it has to be good. The intriguing supporting cast includes Matthew Fox (Lost) and Will Arnett (Arrested Development). The series will have six episodes with the last three debuting on March 21.

When to Watch: Sunday, March 15, 7 p.m. ET
What Kind of Show: Awards Show
Who’s In It: Conan O’Brien
Conan O’Brien will host Hollywood’s annual salute to itself for the second straight year. While he’s no Ricky Gervais, Conan is quick on his feet and hopefully will keep the egos in the room from getting too inflated. Tonight, expect more Conan zingers, plenty of awards for One Battle After Another (including Best Picture), and at least one speech about either the situation in Iran or immigration enforcement (or both). (It’s Hollywood, folks; they can’t help themselves.)

When to Watch: Thursday, March 12
What Kind of Show: Sci-Fi
Who’s In It: Holly Hunter, Robert Picardo, Paul Giamatti
Paramount has the rights to the Star Trek franchise and it plans to ride that horse as long as it can. Star Trek Starfleet Academy, the sixth Star Trek-themed show from Paramount in the last nine years, stars Holly Hunter (pictured above) as the captain of the USS Athena and chancellor of the Starfleet Academy where young cadets compete to be ship officers. The supporting cast includes the great Paul Giamatti as a heavily made-up part Klingon and Robert Picardo as The Doctor, reprising his role from the Star Trek: Voyager series from a time far, far away. Star Trek Starfleet Academy is fun and a worthy entry in the franchise. The season one finale will air today and, despite some criticism from conservatives who say the show is too ‘woke,’ the streaming audience should be as huge as the Enterprise.
