Packers vs. Commanders: Can You Share Your Amazon Password So a Friend Can Watch?

TV Answer Man, I have my Amazon Prime account so I have a question for you. Could I share my account with my friend so he can watch tomorrow night’s Commanders-Packers game on Thursday Night Football? How about two friends? (Am I getting greedy? Yes!) – Sam, Landover, Maryland.

Sam, Amazon’s Prime Video returns tomorrow night (September 11, 2025) with its exclusive stream of the NFL’s Thursday Night Football. The Washington Commanders visit Lambeau Field to play the home Green Bay Packers at 8:15 p.m. ET; Amazon will begin pre-game coverage at 7 p.m. ET.

Before I answer your question, note that Twitch, Amazon’s free gaming service, will carry the game as well as Amazon’s Prime Video. So you can watch the game for free on Twitch without having to share a user name and password.

However, if that’s your preference, Amazon’s Thursday Night Football games permit two concurrent streams, meaning two people can watch at the same time on one account. So you could share your account information with your friend who could watch the game on Amazon’s Prime Video without getting a Prime membership.

As for two friends, nope. With only two concurrent streams, you and the friend could watch but not a third person. You could share the account with two friends but not watch the game yourself, but I suspect you would not like that.

As for sharing the account information, Amazon says Prime members can share Prime benefits and digital content with one other adult. To do this, rather than provide your user name and password (security risk, you know), Amazon recommends going to Your Amazon Prime Membership, select “Manage Your Household,” and enter the invitee’s details. Both parties must agree to share wallets. You can stop sharing anytime by removing the household member.

On October 1, 2025, the ‘Prime Invitee’ program will end and Amazon says you will then need to use the ‘Amazon Family’ program to add an adult in “your household.” To do this, go to Your Amazon Prime Membership, select “Manage Your Household,” and enter the invitee’s details. Both parties must agree to share wallets. You can stop sharing anytime by removing the household member.

By the way, both the Packers and Commanders are 1-0 but the Packers are a 3.5-point favorite to win.

Sam, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
