Netflix this week (August 24-30, 2025) plans to add nine new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch:
Katrina: Come Hell or High Water
Release Date: Wednesday, August 27
It’s been 20 years since Hurricane Katrina ravished the city of New Orleans, leaving untold dead and property damage almost too high to calculate. The Netflix original documentary chronicles this horrible moment in American history with heartbreaking accounts from some of the survivors.
The Thursday Murder Club
Release Date: Thursday, August 28
Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren who recently starred together in Showtime’s drama, MobLand, are reunited here as retired pals who decide to juice things up by trying to solve a murder case. The Netflix original comedy film was released a short time in theaters this month, capturing strong reviews from the critics.
Unknown Number: The High School Catfish
Release Date: Friday, August 29
A high school girl and her boyfriend in Michigan begin receiving threatening texts from an anonymous stalker. But the real horror begins when an investigation discovers the who and why behind the screen. The Netflix doc will be a must view for true crime fans.
