TV Answer Man, do you know if DIRECTV offers ESPN Plus with its programming packages so I could add it to my Choice plan? – Blair, Cincinnati.
Blair, ESPN+, the streaming alternative to the basic cable version of ESPN, offers a mix of live ESPN broadcasts and on-demand programming. While it does not carry every show and live event available on ESPN, it does show a large number as well as numerous live events not available on the cable/satellite channel.
DIRECTV now offers ESPN+, which normally costs $11.99 a month, in two ways.
1. Bars and Restaurants
DIRECTV’s business unit now provides the sports streamer to its 300,000 commercial venues which includes bars and restaurants. To find a bar or restaurant in your area that offers the service, you can go to the DIRECTV Bar Finder page here. If you’re a bar or restaurant owner, you could learn more about how to sign up with DIRECTV Business here.
2. DIRECTV’s MySports Genre Pack
DIRECTV now sells a sports and news ‘genre pack’ that includes more than 20 national sports channels for $69.99 a month. If you want to add a regional sports channel, it’s another $19.99 a month. ESPN+ is included in the MySports package at no additional cost.
Unfortunately, at this time, DIRECTV does not sell ESPN+ as a separate add-on service that could be included with your Signature plan, such as Choice or Ultimate.
Blair, I hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe.
