Paramount Plus, April 6-12: This Week’s Top New Release

By Phillip Swann
The TV Answer Man – Follow me on X.

Paramount Plus, the streaming service with plans starting at $7.99 a month, this week (April 6-12, 2025) will add three releases. Here’s the one to watch, in my humble opinion.

An Evening With Elton John and Brandi Carlile
Release Date; April 6, 8 p.m. ET.

An Evening with Elton John and Brandi Carlilea concert special which will air on CBS and simulcast on Paramount Plus at 8 p.m. ET, will feature songs from the new John/Carlile album, Who Believes In Angels? The two singers filmed the concert on March 26th at the London Palladium. Elton is now 78 and suffering from rapidly declining eyesight so this might be your last time to catch his genius before he retires.

Bonus Pick: Catch Up With MobLand
Since it’s a so-so week for new additions on Paramount Plus, allow me to remind you to catch up with MobLand, the new Paramount Plus with Showtime crime drama. Tom Hardy stars as a fixer for a London crime family headed by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. I watched the first episode last week and it’s a hoot with great over-the-top performances from the three leads. Episode two dropped today, Sunday, April 6.

Sunday, April 6
An Evening with Elton John and Brandi Carlile*

Monday, April 7

Wednesday, April 9
