Texas Rangers Launch New RSN to Air Games In 2025

The Texas Rangers have announced the formation of the Texas Rangers Sports Network, a new regional sports network (RSN) that will air and distribute the team’s games in 2025 and beyond.

The team’s local broadcasts were previously carried by Main Street Sports Group’s Bally Sports RSN (regional sports network), which is now called FanDuel Sports Network. But their contract expired after the 2024 season and the Rangers chose to go its own way rather than negotiate a new agreement. (In contrast, the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers did negotiate new deals with Main Street Sports Group rather than pursue other options. Main Street Sports Group, formerly known as Diamond Sports, recently emerged from a 16-month long bankruptcy reorganization.)

The Rangers said in a statement that it will provide details in the coming days on which cable, satellite and live streaming operators will carry the Texas Rangers Sports Network. The team announced earlier this month that it would offer a standalone streaming plan for its games, not requiring a subscription to a pay TV operator. The streaming plan, which will be available on Victory Plus, will cost $100 for select spring training games and the entire regular season in 2025.

Update: DIRECTV to Carry New Rangers Sports Network

“One of the main goals when seeking solutions for Rangers television broadcasts was to give fans more access to our games,” Texas Rangers owner Ray Davis stated in the press release. “We determined that the best path toward providing our fans with more options is to handle many of the broadcast obligations in-house.”
