Hulu this week (January 19-25, 2025) plans to add 11 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand lineup. Here’s the most interesting new title, in my humble opinion.

Whiskey On the Rocks – Hulu Original Series
In October 1981, a nuclear-equipped Russian submarine ran aground inside a restricted Swedish military zone, triggering international tensions and fears of world war. What may sound like the plotline of a 1990s Harrison Ford movie actually happened and Hulu has found a way to turn it into a six-episode satirical series. “The true story…is both dramatic and absurd, and something we felt would work very well as political satire. The ambition was to use a visual and suspenseful language to contrast and enhance the humor, in a way you rarely see in comedies,” says show director Bjorn Stein. Debuts Wednesday, January 22.

True crime fans may also like The Killer Inside: The Ruth Finley Story, a Lifetime movie starring Teri Hatcher who says she was stalked over a three-year period but ignored by police because she was believed to be psychologically imbalanced.
