Peacock to Add 19 New Titles This Week – Here’s the 2 Most Interesting

Peacock, the NBCUniversal-operated streaming service, this week (November 10-16, 2024) plans to add 19 new TV shows and movies. Here are the two most interesting, in my humble opinion.

Twisters (2024) – Peacock Exclusive
Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones star as rival storm chasers in this excellent remake of the 1996 film, Twister, with Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt in lead. Powell again shows he’s ready to assume Tom Cruise’s role as Hollywood’s leading ‘man with a mission’ and Edgar-Jones could become the Julia Roberts of her time. The film also benefits from an expected bump up in CGI effects and strong supporting performances from Anthony Ramos as a storm chaser caught between profits and altruism and Maura Tierney as Edgar-Jones’ trusting mom. Fun film and it will be available on Peacock in 4K and Dolby Atmos. Debuts on Peacock on Friday, November 15.

The Day Of The Jackal, Season 1 – Peacock Original
Eddie Redmayne (The Good Nurse) would not be my first choice to play an assassin in this remake of the 1973 film, but the trailer looks interesting so let’s give it a try. If you didn’t see the original, the movie follows the assassin as he tries to kill a political leader except this version is set in Germany rather than France. Debuts on Peacock on Thursday, November 14. The first five episodes will be available on Thursday; six, seven and eight will be on the following three Thursdays (November 21, 28 and December 5) and then the last two episodes will debut on December 12.
