Google’s YouTube has raised the price of the 2024 NFL Sunday Ticket by $30 with roughly three weeks left before the regular season. However, the company has also launched a discount if you bundle the package of out-of-market Sunday afternoon games with YouTube TV.
The new Sunday Ticket price if purchased separately via YouTube Primetime Channels is now $479, compared to the previous fee of $449. However, if you buy the Ticket with YouTube TV, you will pay $585.96 in four installments rather than $670.96 over four months. That’s a $85 discount from the now regular price of YouTube TV ($72.99 a month) combined with the now regular Ticket price via YouTube TV ($379.99).
But note that you must maintain your YouTube TV subscription throughout the NFL season to watch the Sunday Ticket.
Plus, if you purchase YouTube TV separately, the streamer is now offering $20 off each of the first four months of its monthly rate for consumers who are not current YouTube TV base plan subscribers, have not been YouTube TV base plan subscribers nor participated in a YouTube TV base plan trial previously. Consequently, for some fans, the bundle discount arguably is not as significant as it might seem.
The $85 YouTube TV/Ticket bundle discount is available until August 29.
The Sunday Ticket’s price increase comes a few weeks after a California judge overturned a jury verdict that would have forced the NFL to pay billions of dollars to former DIRECTV/Sunday Ticket subscribers because of an alleged price fixing scheme. The NFL was sued by former DIRECTV/Ticket subscribers who charged the league wanted to keep the Ticket’s price artificially high to ensure that fewer fans would subscribe and therefore continue watching games on Fox and CBS, both of which pay the league billions for the rights to broadcast Sunday afternoon games.
The plaintiffs are expected to appeal the judge’s decision to overturn the verdict.
Update: How to get $50 off the Ticket the easy way.
