NFL Sunday Ticket: Will YouTube Offer More Discounts Before the Season?

TV Answer Man, I am thinking of getting the NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube. But do you think they will have a discount before the season starts? — Jamal, Sacramento, California.

Jamal, discounts? YouTube has announced that it will actually raise the Sunday Ticket price by $30 this Thursday, August 15, 2024. The base price for the Ticket on YouTube TV is now $349 while it’s $449 purchased separately via YouTube Primetime Channels. (You must maintain a YouTube TV subscription to get the $349 price.) So, it will be $379 and $479 on YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels respectively.

The Sunday Ticket site says you can lock in the current price ($349 or $449) if you order before Thursday. But if you order during the next three days, that will be your price for the season. In other words, you won’t be eligible to get the Ticket at a discount if YouTube decides to offer one before the regular season which starts in slightly less than four weeks.

So should you order now or gamble that YouTube will provide a significant discount on the price after it’s raised this Thursday?

My prediction is that YouTube will offer another discount before the season, most likely a $100 or $50 reduction on the $379 and $479 prices. I’m not guaranteeing this will happen, but I think the odds are good. The late discount would be a strong lure for fans who have been on the fence.
