Netflix this week (July 21-27, 2024) plans to add 14 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup in July 2024. Here are the three most interesting new titles, in my humble opinion:
Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam — Netflix Documentary
You probably know the names, The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and O-Town. But you probably don’t know the name, Lou Pearlman, the talent manager who helped launch those famous boy bands of the 90s. And you probably don’t know the story of how Pearlman may have exploited the young musicians to the tune of $300 million. This new Netflix original documentary will reveal the details. Debuts Wednesday, July 24.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)
Directed and co-written by Guy Ritchie, the movie reboot of the 1960s TV series stars Henry Cavill as the superspy Napoleon Solo (played in the TV series by Robert Vaughn). Armie Hammer is his sidekick, Illya Kuryakin, and the two battle Nazi sympathizers and other evil forces. The 2015 film received mixed reviews, but it’s a fun ride thanks to the leads and the impressive supporting cast which includes Elizabeth Debicki, Hugh Grant and Alicia Vikander. Debuts Saturday, July 27.
All American (Season Six)
I hesitate before recommending a show that’s six seasons in, but the CW sports drama is a rare fictional portrayal of the manipulation of young football players and how it can ruin their lives. Even better, you can watch the first five seasons on Netflix. Season six debuts Tuesday, July 23.
