TV Answer Man, I know that DIRECTV has the Dodgers in 4K. But can anyone watch them in 4K or do you need to be in LA? Also, can DIRECTV Stream customers watch the Dodgers in 4K? — Jin, Dallas.

Jin, that’s a complicated question but let me sort it out for you. DIRECTV’s satellite service offers home Los Angeles Dodgers games in 4K on one of its dedicated 4K channels (channels 104-107.) If you live in the LA market, and subscribe to Spectrum SportsNet LA, you can watch the games on the 4K channel.

In addition, if you subscribe to DIRECTV’s MLB Extra Innings plan, you can watch the Dodgers in 4K as well even if you don’t live in the LA market. However, if you live outside the LA market, and/or don’t get Extra Innings, you can not watch the team in 4K.

DIRECTV Stream carries the 4K broadcasts of the home Dodgers games but they can only be seen if you live in the LA market and subscribe to Spectrum SportsNet LA. The streaming service does not have an Extra Innings or MLB TV plan so that option is not available.

Jin, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
