TV Answer Man, we’re fed up with our cable service. Do you know if there’s any way to watch the Kansas City Royals without having to get an expensive subscription to cable or satellite or a streamer like Fubo? — Jerry, Overland Park, Kansas.

Jerry, several pay TV services such as DIRECTV, DIRECTV and Fubo carry the Bally Sports channels which have the regional TV rights to the Kansas City Royals games. However, you don’t need to subscribe to them. Bally Sports has a standalone streaming service called Bally Sports Plus which enables you to subscribe directly to watch the Royals. The cost is $19.99 a month or $189.99 for one year and you can learn more about it here.

The standalone Bally Sports Plus option is also available for the Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Rays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Miami Marlins. You have to live in the market of each team (including the Royals) to watch the games, however.

Jerry, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
