HBO Max, Netflix, Peacock, Disney Adding 9 New Releases Today: The 3 to Watch

Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Peacock and Disney Plus today (March 17, 2026) are adding nine new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineups. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:

The Ricky Gervais Show (Seasons 1-3)

What Kind of Show: Animated Comedy
Who’s In It: Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Karl Pilkington (voices)
After the success of The Office in the UK, Ricky Gervais (animated above) and Stephen Merchant returned to a small radio station in London to record a series of podcasts along with a station producer, Karl Pilkington. The off-the-cuff chats became so popular that the trio decided to turn them into an animated comedy series (pictured above) which ran for three seasons (13 episodes each season). If you love Ricky Gervais, you’ll love these shows. And if you don’t love Ricky Gervais, well, there’s no hope for you, is there?

Who’s In It: Anderson Cooper
On February 1, the mother of Today Show anchor, Savannah Guthrie, disappeared, apparently a victim of a kidnapping. The case dominated the headlines for weeks but suddenly was kicked to the back pages without any explanation or resolution. So, where is Nancy Guthrie and why has most of the media essentially stopped covering her disappearance? Hopefully, Mr. CNN today will provide some answers in his new episode of The Whole Story With Anderson Cooper.

If you missed last night’s new American Idol episode, here’s your chance to catch up. The celebrity judges are joined in Hawaii by Keke Palmer and Brad Paisley who mentor the contestants. Ten of the remaining wannabes will perform including Daniel Stallworth and Hannah Harper.
