Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Paramount+ Adding 15 New Releases Today: The 3 to Watch

The TV Answer Man – Buy Me a Coffee!
Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Max, Paramount Plus and Peacock today (March 12, 2026) have added 15 new TV shows and movies to their streaming lineup. Here are the three to watch, in my humble opinion:
Virgin River (Season seven, all 10 episodes)
Where to Watch: Netflix
What Kind of Show: Romantic Drama
Who’s In It: Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson
Alexandra Breckenridge stars as Mel, a nurse who moves from glitzy LA to a small NoCal town to get away from it all. But she learns that small towns come with big problems, too. The romantic drama will pick up where season six ended with the marriage of Mel and Jack (Martin Henderson) and their plans to adopt. I can’t say I’ve watched this series but it has a serious cult following.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (Season 1 Finale)

What Kind of Show: Sci-Fi
Who’s In It: Holly Hunter, Robert Picardo, Paul Giamatti
Paramount has the rights to the Star Trek franchise and it plans to ride that horse as long as it can. Star Trek Starfleet Academy, the sixth Star Trek-themed show from Paramount in the last nine years, stars Holly Hunter (pictured above) as the captain of the USS Athena and chancellor of the Starfleet Academy where young cadets compete to be ship officers. The supporting cast includes the great Paul Giamatti as a heavily made-up part Klingon and Robert Picardo as The Doctor, reprising his role from the Star Trek: Voyager series from a time far, far away. Star Trek Starfleet Academy is fun and a worthy entry in the franchise. The season one finale will air today and, despite some criticism from conservatives who say the show is too ‘woke,’ the streaming audience should be as huge as the Enterprise.

What Kind of Show: Reality
Who’s In It: Mormon Wives!
The Hulu busy bees have concocted a reality series featuring a TikTok group of married Mormon women who share their secrets and their husbands for pleasure and profit. By all accounts, which arguably means dubious social media chatter, the first three seasons were a hit so we’re on to season four which will feature more ‘soft swinging’; a possible continuation of the fight between MomTok groups and DadTok groups; and an examination of how fame is changing everyone. Seasons one through three are also available on Hulu.
