TV Answer Man, we are subscribers to DIRECTV. Do you know if they will have any free previews of channels in the near future? We like to watch things for free and then decide if it’s worth a full subscription. Thank you!! – Nellie, Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Nellie, I hear you. The free preview is a great way to evaluate whether a channel is worth subscribing to separately or upgrading your package to include that channel.

DIRECTV offers occasional free previews and I have good news for you. The TV provider next week will hold a free preview of the MGM+ channel for both satellite and streaming customers.

When Will the Preview Take Place?
The MGM+ free preview on DIRECTV will run from February 26 through March 1. (Through March 1 means that the last day will be March 1; the preview will not be available starting March 2.)

What Channel Will the Preview Air On?
The MGM+ free preview will include three MGM channels: MGM+ on channel 558; MGM+ Hits on channel 559; and MGM+ Marquee on channel 560.

(The free preview will also be available on U-verse with five MGM channels: 891, 892, 893, 1894 and 896.)

You also can watch the free MGM preview on the DIRECTV app by selecting the Watch Live TV button and scrolling to channels 558-560.

What’s On MGM+?
MGM+ offers a mix of original shows and movies and licensed programming. The title lineup includes Naked Gun (2025), Gladiator II, Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, Vanished, Robin Hood, The Hillside Strangler and thousands more. You can see more MGM+ titles here. If you like the free preview, MGM+ costs $6.99 a month as a separate service.
