DIRECTV has added CLEO TV to its $34.99 a month MyEntertainment genre pack.
The channel, which targets women of color with cooking/lifestyle shows such as Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix, Life Therapy, Global Gourmet with Chef Essie and Heart of the Batter with Jordin Sparks, is now part of the MyEntertainnment 40 channel plus lineup. The plan includes such basic cable networks as A&E, FX, CNBC, Bravo, CMT, the Food Network, HGTV as well as HBO Max Basic (with ads) and Hulu and Disney Plus with ads.
DIRECTV’s Genre Packs Are Not Available to Satellite Customers
DIRECTV, which has lost at least 14 million subscribers over the last decade, hopes the genre plans will attract cost-conscious consumers who are looking for alternatives to the TV bundle. However, as of now, the genre packs are only available to DIRECTV’s streaming customers, not its satellite audience which is still larger than its streaming audience.
