TV Answer Man, MLB TV says it will have some games in 1080p HD. Is that true? – Gary, New Haven, Connecticut.
Gary, you’re right. MLB TV, the league’s streaming plan for out-of-market games, says at its site that ‘select’ games will be available this year in 108op HD, which offers a more vivid and detailed picture than the plan’s normal 720p HD images. But which games will be available in 108op HD, you ask? I asked an MLB spokesman and, unfortunately, he said he could not provide a list of the 1080p HD broadcasts. However, he did say it would be a significant amount, not just a few games sprinkled throughout the season.
I’ll stay on this and if I learn more about specific games in 1080p HD, I will offer an update here.
By the way, MLB TV this year costs $149.99 for the entire season.
Gary, hope that answers your question. Happy viewing and stay safe!
