Apple TV+ Is Offering a Free Preview – But There’s Something You Should Know

Apple TV+, the streaming service with plans starting at $9.99 a month, will offer a free preview of its entire lineup on Friday, January 3 through Sunday, January 5. The preview will include such critically-acclaimed Apple TV+ original programs as Silo, Severance, Shrinking, Bad Sisters, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses and Presumed Innocent, among other shows. To access the preview, you will only need an Apple ID which can be created at the Apple TV+ web site here.

While the freebie may seem like a great deal, Apple TV+ has for years and continues to offer a seven-day free trial to new subscribers. In addition, customers who purchase and activate a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod touch can get the streaming service for free for three months.

If you’re looking to binge some Apple TV+ this weekend, and you are a new subscriber, I would suggest you just get the seven-day free trial. And if you are a recent purchaser of an Apple product, get the three month offer. Three months is a lot better than three days.

Just be sure to cancel your subscription prior to the end of the promotional period or you will be billed $9.99 for the first month.

What’s unclear is whether someone who uses the three-day preview this weekend would still be eligible to use a seven-day free trial at a later date, perhaps even immediately after the three-day preview. The TV Answer Man has asked Apple for a comment and will report back here if we get a response.
