HBO Max Has Added 84 New Movies Today

HBO Max today (August 1, 2022) has added 84 new movies to its streaming lineup.

The new films include:

* Blow Out, the haunting 1981 Brian DePalma-directed drama starring John Travolta as an accidental investigator of a presidential assassination with DePalma’s then wife, Nancy Allen, playing a clueless accessory.

* Blue Velvet, the David Lynch-directed 1986 drama about a young man (Kyle MacLachlan) who stumbles into a murder mystery. Dennis Hopper and Isabella Rossellini chew the scenery in delicious supporting roles and Lynch regular, Laura Dern, plays MacLachlan’s earnest sidekick.

* The Great Escape, the 1963 adventure based on the real-life escape of Allied forces from a German prisoner camp during World War II. There are great performances wherever you look from such legends as James Garner, Donald Pleasence and Richard Attenborough but it’s Steve McQueen as a motorcycle-driving rebel named ‘The Cooler King’ who shines brightest.
