Netflix today has added 31 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the four best, in my humble opinion.

Will Ferrell in Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby.

Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby (2006)
Adam McKay’s hilarious send-up of the NASCAR circuit starring Will Ferrell as a witless but winning driver. Sacha Baron Cohen is Peter Sellers-like funny as a French driver and rival to Ferrell’s Ricky Bobby and the rest of the supporting cast includes Amy Adams, John C. Reilly and Leslie Bibb. Rev your engines and prepare to laugh.

Inside Man (2006)
Inside Man, the entertaining 2006 drama (directed by Spike Lee) starring Denzel Washington as a troubled New York detective assigned to investigate a bank robbery that turns into a kidnapping. Denzel is deliciously playful as the cop and Clive Owen is perfect as the chief thief.  But the supporting cast is also overflowing with memorable performances including Jodie Foster as a New York political fixer and Christopher Plummer as a bank executive with a mysterious past.

American Graffiti (1972)
American Graffiti, directed by George Lucas, is a nostalgic masterpiece that brilliantly captures the essence of teenage life in the early 1960s. Set against the backdrop of a small Californian town on the cusp of change, the film takes its audience on a memorable ride through one summer night, following a group of high school graduates (Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Cindy Williams, among others) as they navigate the challenges of growing up and the uncertainty of the future. It says here this is Lucas’ best film; yes, even better than Star Wars. And don’t forget Paul Le Mat and Harrison Ford. Love this movie.

The Matrix is now available on Netflix.

The Matrix (1999)
The Matrix, directed by the Wachowskis, is a groundbreaking sci-fi masterpiece. Keanu Reeves delivers a memorable performance as Neo, a computer hacker who discovers that the world he knows is a simulated reality controlled by sentient machines. The film’s thought-provoking exploration of the blurred lines between reality and illusion, combined with its iconic action sequences and philosophical undertones, make it a timeless classic in the science fiction genre. Often repeated but never superceded, The Matrix has become one of the most influential movies of the last 25 years.
