TV Answer Man, do you know if Dish is supposed to have a free preview of Extra Innings? I can’t find it anywhere in the guide. What’s up with that? — Gordon, Des Moines, Iowa. 

Gordon, the 2024 Major League Baseball season began on Thursday (March 28) and several TV providers such as DIRECTV and Comcast are offering a free preview of MLB Extra Innings, the league’s out-of-market plan. However, Dish is not among the TV services providing the free preview this year although it has offered it for the last several years. Dish is selling Extra Innings for $150 but just not providing a free preview.

There’s no explanation for this from Dish but the company is experiencing some difficult financial issues with some analysts saying a bankruptcy is possible.
