TV Answer Man, do you know when MLB TV will start allowing us to subscribe to the 2024 season with spring training beginning for some teams? I am specifically interested in the San Diego Padres plan. — Frenchy, San Diego.

Frenchy, Major League Baseball is now taking orders on the 2024 MLB.TV full season package of out-of-market games. The full-season price is $149.99, which is the same as last season. The single-team price for the full season will be $129.99, also the same as last season.

The monthly rate for MLB TV has increased: It’s now $29.99 a month, compared to $24.99 a month for last year.

For $149.99, a MLB.TV subscriber will be able to watch every 2024 out-of-market game on 400 supported devices, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, computers, smart phones and tablets, among others.

MLB.TV also includes more than 7,000 minor league games through the First Pitch or MiLB apps. The league says it will also include Multiview, which will enable subscribers to watch up to four games at once on the MLB apps on supported Apple TV, Fire TV, Google TV, Roku and Xbox devices.

Local blackouts will still apply in the 2024 MLB TV out-of-market package. You cannot watch the team or teams in your local market with a MLB.TV subscription. You can determine which teams would be blacked out in your zip code here.

However, there will be separate, no-blackout MLB TV plans for the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies and, likely, the Arizona Diamondbacks, three teams that are not available on regional sports networks. (The three used to be on Bally Sports, but Diamond Sports, the owner of Bally Sports, voided their agreements last year as part of its bankruptcy reorganization effort.)

You can watch the games of the Padres and Rockies without in-market blackouts for $19.99 a month or $99.99 for the entire season. If you bundle the Padres or Rockies plan with the out-of-market package for MLB TV, the price will be $199.99 for the entire season or $39.99 a month.

The league has yet to unveil its plan for the Diamondbacks.

Frenchy, hope that helps. Happy viewing and stay safe!
