TV Answer Man, anything new on a TV deal for the Arizona Diamondbacks games in 2024? — Dale, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dale, Arizona Diamondbacks CEO Derrick Hall said just a few days ago that he was uncertain how and where his team’s games would be televised during the 2024 season. But something must have changed in a hurry because the Diamondbacks announced yesterday that their games will again be available via a streaming package on MLB TV.

Fans in the Diamondbacks market can now purchase the team’s plan for $99 for the entire season or $19.99 by month at MLB TV. If you want to bundle the Diamondbacks plan with MLB TV’s out-of-market package, that will cost $199.99 for the year or $39.99 a month.

The Diamondbacks games will not be blacked out on MLB TV in the team’s market, but games outside the Arizona market will be blacked out in the MLB TV’s out of market plan.

The return to MLB TV is necessitated by Diamond Sports rejecting the Diamondbacks’ TV contract last year as part of its bankruptcy reorganization plan. (Diamond Sports owns Bally Sports, the regional sports networks.) After losing its deal with Diamond Sports last summer, MLB TV began broadcasting the Diamondbacks games in-market without blackouts for $19.99 a month.
