Peacock, the NBCUniversal-operated streaming service with plans starting at $5.99 a month, plans to add 86 new TV shows and movies to its lineup tomorrow (June 1, 2024). Here’s the three best, in my humble opinion:

The Bourne Collection
Peacock is adding the first two Bourne films (The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy) starring Matt Damon as an intelligence agent who seeks vengeance on his former government handlers for a myriad of misdeeds. The two films are action packed with some of the best automobile chase scenes you’ll ever see. Peacock tomorrow will also add 2012’s The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner starring but skip that and go with the Damon originals. See our article on how Matt Damon almost didn’t get the part of Jason Bourne.

The First 3 John Wick Movies
Keanu Reeves stars as the retired hit man who returns to the killing fields when Russian mobsters do away with a loved one (no, spoilers here). The first three John Wick films may be short on originality, but they breathe new life in the vengeance genre thanks to Reeves’ charisma and athleticism. The Matrix star still has all the moves, and they are in frequent display here.

Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Directed by Steven Spielberg, Saving Private Ryan stars Tom Hanks as the captain of a World War II unit which must find a single soldier (Matt Damon) while navigating the horrors of war. There’s never been a better film on the sacrifice and unselfishness of America’s military and Hanks is especially good in lead. And the first 15 minutes, which depicts the D-Day invasion, immerses the viewer in battle unlike any scene before or since.
