Hulu next month (May 2024) plans to add 120 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Videon on Demand service. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:
Welcome to Wrexham, Season 3
American actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds bought a soccer team in Wales — okay, that’s crazy enough — but then they decided to put their Ted Lasso-like management techniques on film for a documentary crew. The result is Welcome to Wrexham and if you love soccer and business management, you’ll love this show. Debuts May 3.
The Kardashians, Season 5
I’m not a Kardashian fan, but I can’t deny the appeal of Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kendall, and Kris to the masses. So you’ve been duly informed that season five of the dysfunctional family semi-reality show returns to Hulu on May 23.
Elvis (2022)
Austin Butler is sensational as the King of Rock n’ Roll in this raucous Baz Luhrmann-directed biofilm which chronicles Presley’s rise and fall. Tom Hanks plays Colonel Parker, the controlling mastermind behind Elvis’ commercial success. Debuts May 1.
There are also new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy (available on Hulu the day after their ABC debut); five Die Hard movies; and a new Hulu original movie, called Prom Dates, featuring two newly teens who discover life lessons when they search for companions before the big dance.
