Netflix this week (June 16-23, 2024) plans to add 18 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here’s the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Dexter (Seasons one through eight)
The critically acclaimed (albeit polarizing) Showtime drama about a serial killer with a cause comes to Netflix where you just know it’s going to pile up the views like Dexter piles up the bodies. Michael C. Hall is brilliant in the title role as the Miami police blood examiner who just wants to improve the world, one murder at a time. If you’re not offended by the premise that murder can have its place, then you’ll fall hard for Dexter. Debuts Wednesday, June 19.

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
The Netflix original documentary reveals what it takes to become a member of the most famous cheerleader squad on Earth with unprecedented access to backstage auditions, strategy sessions and other prep work by the high-kicking aspirants. Debuts Thursday, June 20.

30 for 30: June 17th, 1994
The ESPN documentary chronicles the televised police chase of O.J. Simpson when he and pal Al Cowlings rode a white Ford Bronco up and down the myriad highways of Los Angeles, days after the murder of Simpson’s wife, Nicole and friend, Ron Goldman. The doc uses only clips (both live and behind-the scenes footage) of that bizarre day, transporting the viewer back in time. With Monday the 30th’s anniversary of the event, this is a great time to revisit one of the weirdest happenings in television history.

Update: Netflix has the OJ doc on its list of new titles for today, June 17. But as of 1 p.m. ET, the streamer has yet to add the show.
