Max, the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max, plans to add 10 new TV shows and movies to its lineup this week (June 16-22, 2024.) Here’s the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

House of the Dragon, Season Two (HBO Original)
The Game of Thrones prequel returns to Max for season two, nearly two years after its much-anticipated season one debut. If you’re not familiar with the GOT lore, House of the Dragon comes from the fertile mind of its author, George R.R. Martin, and covers the mythical events 200 years before Game of Thrones when kings fall, sons succeed, and bloody wars ensue. Debuts Sunday, June 16.

Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple (HBO Original)
You might know him as Silvio from The Sopranos or as Little Steven, the bandana-wearing guitarist in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. But this documentary suggests you may actually not know him at all. The HBO original doc traces Van Zandt’s unusual path to stardom and his incredible passion for rock n roll that still drives his quest for life today at age 73. The show includes interviews with Stevie, Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Bono and Eddie Vedder. Debuts Saturday, June 22.

Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood
The two-part docuseries will explore the feud between superstar singer Taylor Swift and music mogul Scooter Braun from the perspective of each. The first part will explore Swift’s reaction to Braun buying the rights to her early albums while part two will examine the controversy from the music executive’s viewpoint. No doubt the doc will be watched by a large of Swifties who will respond that there should only be one viewpoint here. Debuts Friday, June 21.
