Netflix next month (May 2024) plans to add 108 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup. Here are the three most interesting, in my humble opinion:

Unfrosted (2024, Netflix Original)
The Netflix original comedy film starring (and directed by) Jerry Seinfeld serves up a reimagined tale of how Pop-Tarts were invented. The ensemble cast includes Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer and Bill Burr as…John F. Kennedy! There are no reviews available of Unfrosted as we write this, but hey, when’s the last time that Seinfeld was involved in a dud? Never? Debuts May 3.

A Man In Full (Netflix Original)
Based on the Tom Wolfe novel, the Netflix original six-episode miniseries stars Jeff Daniels as an Atlanta real estate mogul who must battle bankruptcy and a host of foes who want to seize his holdings. Created by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, Boston Legal) and directed by Regina King, A Man In Full will undoubtedly touch on how politics influences the law but not so much vice versa. But we’ll see if Kelley and King do better with a Wolfe adaption than those who tried before them. (Right, Brian De Palma?) Debuts May 2.

Bridgerton (Season 3, Netflix Original)
Season three of the sudsy British historical romance will commence on May 16 with four episodes while part two will debut on June 13. Bridgerton is not my cup of tea, if you will, but I’m told season three will continue the tale of Queen Charlotte, Penelope, Colin and all the ribald clan. Debuts May 16.
