in order to take advantage of HDR your display have to meet certain levels of HDR requirements such as HDR10 or DOLBY VISION.my first HDR TV was a SAMSUNG TV that didn’t even have wide color gamut and it didn’t get all that bright so HDR was of no use for that TV. i now own a HDR OLED laptop and a LG HDR computer monitor and neither one of them can get bright enough to take advantage of HDR.as soon as i turn on HDR in these displays rather than turning the picture brighter it gets darker so much to the point that i have to leave HDR turned off.if you get a HDR display then make sure it is at the very least HDR 10.
