Netflix In Oct. 2019: 67 Originals, Breaking Bad Movie

Netflix next month (October 2019) plans to add 129 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup, including 67 originals. (Note: Netflix labels a show an ‘original’ even if it first airs in another country, but airs first on Netflix in the United States.)

The new titles will include the long-awaited El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (pictured above), which follows the path of Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) after the final scene in AMC’s hit series about a unassuming chemistry teacher (Bryan Cranston) who turns maniacal meth dealer.

The film, which is directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, is expected to focus on Pinkman’s plan to take revenge for the brutality he suffered in the final episode. While most viewers and critics assume his partner, Walter White (Cranston), died in the TV series, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Mr. Science magically appears in El Camino, at least in flashbacks.

Also coming in October 2019: Living Undocumented, a Netflix original documentary about eight immigrant families who are living in the United States illegally; The Spooky Tale of Captain Underpants Hack-a-ween, a Netflix animated series for tweens about a potty-mouthed pair of mischievous but lovable kids; Insatiable, a Netflix original comedy/drama starring Debby Ryan as a bullied teenager turned beautiful (and vengeful) temptress; and The Laundromat, a Netflix original film starring Meryl Streep as a widow who investigates insurance fraud and rich people in faraway lands. (The movie, directed by Steven Soderbergh, is based on a real-life case.)

Finally, Netflix next month will also stream season five of Peaky Binders, the British-made drama based on the real life crime gang that ruled Birmingham, England after World War I. (Note: Netflix has the exclusive rights to air season five in the U.S. so it calls it a ‘Netflix original.’ However, the show first aired in Great Britain on the BBC.)
