Amazon this week (August 25-August 31) plans to add 45 new TV shows and movies to its Prime streaming lineup, including one original.

The new titles will include season one of Carnival Row (pictured above), an Amazon original drama which features an epic struggle between mythical creatures and humans with Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne in the starring roles. The show, which is designed to highlight the current debate over illegal immigration in the United States, will premiere on Friday, August 30.

Rottentomatoes.com, which tracks critical reviews, gives the show a score of 50 out of a possible 100 based on 22 reviews.

“Beautiful, but bloated, Carnival Row boasts meticulously crafted mythology and luscious world building — unfortunately its story of haves and have simply has too much going on to create anything cohesive,” the site writes, summarizing the reviews.
