Netflix Adding 57 New Titles This Week

Christina Applegate stars in Dead to Me, a new Netflix original comedy.

Netflix this week plans to add 57 new TV shows and movies to its streaming lineup, including 17 ‘originals.’ (Note: Netflix labels a show an ‘original’ even if it first airs in another country, but airs first on Netflix in the United States.)

The new titles will include Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, a Netflix original movie starring Zac Efron as serial murderer Ted Bundy. While the film has received mixed reviews, critics have praised Efron’s transformation as the cold-blooded Bundy.

“Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile often transcends its narrative limitations through sheer force of Zac Efron’s compulsively watchable performance,” writes RottenTomatoes.com, which tracks critical reviews. (RottenTomatoes.com gives the movie a score of 63 out of a possible 100.)

Also notable this week: Dead to Me, a Netflix original comedy series starring Christiana Applegate as a widow who searches for the driver who ran over her husband. During the investigation, she comes across a mysterious character who may not be all there (or here, at least.)
