Hulu this week plans to add 12 new TV shows and movies to its subscription Video on Demand service, including a much-anticipated original crime drama.

The new titles will include the series premiere of The Act, which stars Patricia Arquette as an overprotective mother whose concern for her daughter (Joey King) leads to murder.

The show, which is based on a real-life event, is generating strong reviews from TV critics. Chuck Barney writes in the San Jose Mercury News that Arquette “delivers another standout performance in this stranger-than-fiction true crime story that made headlines in 2015.” Barney calls the show ‘must-see.’

Also notable this week: The series premiere of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists from the Freeform channel; the complete season four of Fear the Walking Dead from AMC; and the series premiere of The Fix (ABC.), a crime drama with strange overtones of the O.J. Simpson murder case. (Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark is an executive producer of the show. Okay…)
