Amazon plans to add 17 new TV shows and movies to its Prime lineup during New Year’s week (December 30-January 5), including an original movie.

The new titles for the week will include Beautiful Boy, an Amazon original movie starring Steve Carell as the father of teen boy addicted to drugs. The movie, which was released in theaters in 2018, gets a score of 67 out of a possible 100 at RottenTomatoes.com, which tracks critical reviews.

One hundred and nineteen critics out of 157 surveyed by the site said they liked Beautiful Boy.

“When the family dynamics are front and center, “Beautiful Boy” resonates, as it reflects the ugliness of addiction and the long tail it wags,” writes Adam Graham of the Detroit News.

Also notable during the week: Season 36 of Frontline, the award-winning PBS documentary series; Brazil, the 1985 futuristic comedy from Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam; and A Beautiful Mind, which stars Russell Crowe as the brilliant but mentally troubled economist, John Nash.
