Q. I’m planning to do my holiday shopping at Best Buy, or least the electronics stuff. Is Best Buy going to have some big, big discounts on TVs on Black Friday and during the holiday rush? — Tommy, Leesburg, Virginia.
Tommy, Bfads.net, the web site that tracks holiday shopping bargains, has just published Best Buy’s 52-page circular for the Black Friday weekend. And, yes, there are some cool deals on televisions, particularly 4K sets.

Before I begin, Best Buy’s Black Friday sale will begin at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and run until 1 a.m. ET on Friday. Then the doors will close, but they will reopen at 8 a.m. on Black Friday itself. (You can also get most of the bargains at BestBuy.com.)

As for TVs, here are 5 interesting deals the retailer has planned for the Black Friday weekend. (Note: Supplies will be limited so act accordingly if you see a deal you like.)
* Toshiba 43-inch Smart 4K TV — $129.
Based on the ad, we can’t determine the set’s model. But Best Buy is now selling a Toshiba 43-inch 4K TV for $319 online. If it’s the same set, the Black Friday price would be nearly a $200 discount.
That’s a great price, but there is one caveat. As long-time readers here know, I don’t recommend buying any 4K TV that’s under 55 inches. You won’t be able to appreciate the increased resolution with a set that small. But if you’re simply interested in a 43-inch TV, this could be a good value. (Note: This set is only available at retail, not BestBuy.com.)
* LG 70-inch Smart 4K TV — $699
I can’t find this model online so I can’t determine what the regular price is. Best Buy says it’s $999, which sounds about right. (Dell earlier this year sold a LG 70-inch 4K TV for $1,000.) (Note: This set is only available at retail, not BestBuy.com.)
* Samsung 65-inch Smart 4K TV (model NU6070) — $599.
Best Buy says the Black Friday price is a $200 discount off the regular price. Not a bad deal for a 65-inch 4K TV.
* Toshiba 55-inch Smart 4K TV With Fire TV Inside — $349.99
This model normally goes for $479, but Best Buy is now selling it online for the Black Friday price, which is nearly a 30 percent discount.
* LG 75-inch Smart 4K TV — $999
Again, I can’t find this model online, but Best Buy says the Black Friday discount is $500. If so, that would be a 33 percent discount.
