Q. I read that DIRECTV will have college football games in 4K again this year. But what about Dish? — Frank (Buckeye Fan), Cleveland.

Frank, you are right. As we reported last week, DIRECTV this season will once again deliver college football games in 4K, starting with the August 31 contest between San Diego State and Stanford at 9 p.m. ET.

And I am happy to let you know that Dish will as well, just as it did last year. However, the nation’s second largest satellite TV service says it does not yet have a schedule for the 4K games.

“Dish will deliver select college football games in 4K again this season, but I can’t confirm the exact games at this time,” a Dish spokesperson told me yesterday.

I will update this story when more details are available.

By the way, DIRECTV and Dish are still the only major pay TV providers offering live events in 4K.
