Dish says it will air 56 games of the 2018 World Cup live and in 4K HDR (High Dynamic Range.) on channel 540.
The much-anticipated soccer tournament, which is being held in Russia, started today with a first round matchup between Russia and Saudi Arabia at 11 a.m. Eastern time.

Dish’s 4K HDR offering will include many of the first round matches as well as games from the round of 16, the quarterfinals, the semifinal and the final.
DIRECTV previously announced it would air all 64 games of the tournament in 4K HDR. Comcast has said it will also offer some games in 4K, but on a next-day On Demand basis.

I have a second Hopper3 4k receiver and 4k LG and the only thing that happens when I tune to DISHes 4k channels when they are supposedly transmitting is a receiver that locks up. I was told by two different tech support people that this is an ongoing problem.
Yes, but to watch the World Cup in 4k, you need a Hopper 3. Extra TV’s without the Hopper 3 attached still can with the 4k Joey.
