DIRECTV has unveiled its lineup of live 4K programming for June and, as usual, it’s dominated by sporting events.

(Note: DIRECTV has made no announcement regarding the broadcast of this month’s World Cup in 4K in the United States. We have seen vague references in advertising brochures that games will be available in 4K, but there’s been no official confirmation or announcement. TVAnswerman.com has asked DIRECTV for a comment and will update this story if that changes.)

For starters, the satcaster plans to air the 2018 U.S. Open Golf Tournament from June 14 through June 17 in 4K HDR (High Dynamic Range, which can deliver a more vivid and realistic picture.).
