Like Netflix, Hulu does not release viewer numbers so it’s unclear why Hulu is pulling the plug now. The Path did well with the critics, scoring a 79 out of a possible 100 at RottenTomatoes.com, which tracks critical reviews.
“With strong performances, deep writing, and skilled direction, The Path offers an absorbing observation of the human condition, even if a rushed pace occasionally blunts the impact,” the site states, summarizing the critical response.

Jessica Goldberg, the series creator, released a statement to Deadline.com thanking the cast and production team, but did not offer a reason for the cancellation.
“While it’s sad that The Path is ending, I’m brimming with gratitude and pride,” Goldberg said. “It was a gift to be able to tell challenging and emotional stories for three seasons in this very strange and unique world.”
The season three finale (and now series finale) aired on March 28.
